Dr. Hemendra Kumar is a Precision Agriculture Specialist and Director of the Digital and Precision Agriculture Lab at the University of Maryland Extension. His research pioneers the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning to advance digital and precision agriculture. 

By integrating UAV imagery, satellite-based remote sensing, and IoT sensor networks with AI-driven analytics, he develops intelligent decision support systems for site-specific crop management, water-smart irrigation, crop health diagnostics, and disease detection.
